Efficient Mega Crystal Farming Methods

Farming Mega Crystals in Pokémon Legends Z-A essentially comes down to smashing every Mega Crystal you see in the game world. These crystals respawn over time, so revisiting areas is key to efficient farming.

To get the most out of smashing Mega Crystals, you'll want to obtain 3 Pink Canari Plushes. Check out our Canari Plush guide for details.

Farming Locations

Here are some of the best locations to farm Mega Crystals in Pokémon Legends Z-A. They are known to have a high density of Mega Crystals.

Hyperspace Lumiose (DLC Only)

If you have the Mega Dimensions DLC, the Hyperspace Lumiose is the best place to farm Mega Crystals. Each distortion has a high density of Mega Crystals and you'll need to go through many of them to progress with the DLC story.

Near Restaurant Le Yeah

Behind the Restaurant Le Yeah there is a large number of Mega Crystals spawning in a small area. It is near the Quasartico HQ so you can easily make exchanges.

Blue Sector 7

To get to this location, fly to the Blue Sector 7 Pokémon Center and take the Holovater and drop down into the enclosed area where several Mega Crystals spawn.

Vert Sector 1

Fly to Nouveau Cafe near Vert Sector 1 to find this area near the Florges fountain.

Near Cafe Cyclone

Behind Cafe Cyclone is a small area with a good amount of Mega Crystals. However there is an Alpha Patrat that also spawns here, so watch out if your Pokémon are lower than level 20.

Before The Post Game

Before fighting Rouge Mega Pokémon, the area around them spawns a large number of Mega Crystals. Smash them all before taking on the Rouge Mega Pokémon!

Before the Post Game, the area around Centrico Plaza spawns a large number of Mega Crystals. However, this becomes wildzone 20 after you beat the game and it no longer spawns as many Mega Crystals.

Spending Mega Crystals

Mega Stones

The primary use for Mega Crystals is to exchange them for Mega Stones at the Quasartico HQ. Each Mega Stone costs a varying amount of Mega Crystals depending on the Pokémon. Check out our Mega Stone List guide for details on which Mega Stones are available and when.

Quasartico HQ also sells EXP candies and other useful items in exchange for Mega Crystals.

Resetting EVs

You can also use Mega Crystals to reset your Pokémon's EVs at the Rust Syndicate building. This costs 5 Mega Crystals per Pokémon, allowing you to reallocate their EVs as needed. Check out our Competitive Building Guide for more details.

Buying Items

In the Mega Dimensions DLC, you can also use Mega Crystals to purchase TMs and other items from the shady man near Wild Zone 17.
